Our next inductee, Mr. D. Bruce Osborn, President and CEO, Stirling Energy Systems, Inc., is recognized as one of the early solar pioneers that first developed the current solar dish, Stirling systems, in the late 1970s. He has been with SES since 1999 and led one of the DOE's most successful solar energy programs where the product still holds the world's record for solar-to-electricity conversion efficiency.

Mr. Osborn was previously Senior Vice President, Programs and Engineering for the Power Systems Group of L-3 Communications; Senior Director at Western Digital Corporation; and started his career with Ford Motor Company's Aeronutronic Division.

During his career, Mr. Osborn has held diverse and key program, engineering, business development and operational management positions with demonstrated performance in research, development, production programs, operations and high volume manufacturing for domestic and international markets. As an executive, Mr. Osborn has managed successful businesses in excess of $1B in annual revenues and organizations with more than 3000 associates.

Mr. Osborn graduated with a B.S., Mechanical Engineering from UC Irvine; a M.S., Systems Management from USC; and a Presidential/Key Executive MBA from Pepperdine University, all three with honors. He has U.S. Patents in solar energy and thermal systems, a NASA Award for technical innovation, and other scholastic and professional awards. He has published numerous peer-reviewed technical papers and is an active member in several professional organizations.
